Meet The Founder
Blacktail Kitchens is led by Andy Austin, a qualified carpenter and joiner with 28 years of hands-on experience and more than 15 years specialising in kitchens.
Andy began his career at 16 with a five-year apprenticeship at Royal Ascot Racecourse, qualifying with a CITB NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry. He then continued into a sixth year of advanced training, gaining a further CITB NVQ Level 3 qualification in Joinery.
That training developed the precision, discipline and attention to detail that continue to define his work today. His experience now supports complete kitchen renovations as well as specialist kitchen fitting, combining practical planning, accurate installation and careful finishing throughout the room.
Andy also spent many years designing and building made-to-measure fitted furniture. That background in millimetre-accurate joinery continues to influence the standard of cabinetry, panels, trims and finishing details across every kitchen project.
